Remember, remember, 5th of November. That was the day Guy Fawkes planned to blow up the English Parliament in 1605, but failed. Now in futuristic Britain under the control of a totalitarian government, a masked man known as V (Weaving) wants to complete the task that his hero failed to do. The masked vigilante aims to ignite a revolution of the oppressed citizens with his daring guerilla attacks at the Big Brother government, culminating with the blowing up of the Parliament House. Along the way, V saves a young girl called Evey (Portman) and grooms her to be his successor.
