Set in the tumultuous backdrop of early 19th century France, this epic story tells the tale of Jean Valjean, who is condemned to an unjust prison sentence. Valjean escapes and leads a life on the run till he falls in love with the beautiful Fantine. He devotes himself to caring for Fantine and her daughter, Cosette. Javert, a policeman whose lifelong search for Valjean turned into an obsession, finally gets to meet the man he hunted in a bloody 1832 revolution during a rescue of Marius, Cosette’s lover.
