Bartleby Gaines (Long) is a slacker who has been rejected by every college he has applied to. To satisfy the demands of his parents, he decides to fake his college acceptance and crafts the South Harmon Institute of Technology out of thin air to fool his parents. But when his parents demand to view the website and school, he creates the website, leases an abandoned hospital and hires his friend's uncle to be the dean. He does such a good job that hundreds of other students like him turns up at the "campus" to get an education.
