On the eve of his 65th birthday, media mogul Bill Parish (Hopkins) gets the chance to cut a deal with Death. Death will postpone Parish's death in exchange for a tour of life and the world. Taking on human form as Joe Black (Pitt), Death's plan hits a snag when he falls for Parish's daughter (Forlani).
