This is a sci-fi suspense about "In-Valid" Vincent Freeman, whose genetic defects mar his dream of ever journeying into space. He hatches a daring plan to assume the identity of Jerome Morrow, a "Valid" who is crippled and willing to sell his superior genetic materials. Caught in the process is beautiful "Valid" Irene, who is also denied space travel because of her heart defect.
