Violent demons of the French and Indian War resurrect themselves to haunt veteran soldier Benjamin Martin, who now craves the simple life of a farmer and his family’s company. But when America comes under British tyranny, his eldest son Gabriel runs off to battle against his wishes, and the peace-loving soldier is drawn back into his violent past to make sure no harm befalls his son. His mission to protect his son becomes one of revenge when his house is burned down and one of his children savagely slaughtered by Colonel Tavington.
