He decides to visit Marty that night on the pretense that he thought the party was tonight. On his way there, Cheryl talks about adopting a family from the Hurricane Edna tragedy, only to be dragged into Larry's charade. At the Funkhousers, Larry and Cheryl are forced to stay on, only to see Jeff and Susie show up with the same excuse.
