In this comedy about paternal instincts, Burt Reynolds plays Buddy, a successful 44-year-old self-made bachelor who has everything but a stable relationship and a family of his own. Hilarity ensues when he hears his biological clock ticking and decides to audition for the perfect surrogate mother of his heir. That special someone is waitress and struggling music student, Maggie (D'Angelo). What starts out as a contractual relationship evolves into something more profound when Maggie and Buddy really fall for each other.
