This comedy drama charts the creation and dissolution of a seemingly perfect marriage. Hollywood mogul Albert Brodsky (O' Neal) and beautiful Lucy Van Patten (Long) meet, fall in love and get married. They have a charming little girl, Casey (played by a winsome nine year old Barrymore). The Brodskys' wealth and successful careers do not allow them much time with their daughter leading to negligence on both their married life and daughter. The couple file for divorce, but are in for a shock of their lives when little Casey decides to pursue her legal rights, and sues for divorce from her parents!
