This powerful 1976 Martin Scorsese film is about one man's journey into urban hell. Disgruntled Vietnam war veteran and cabbie Travis Bickle (De Niro) is a lonely man who is obsessed with pornography and violence. As events in Travis' life begin to turn for the worse, he slowly descends into depths of his own paranoia, driving away the only woman willing to love him. Eventually, he explodes in an orgy of killing against the scum of the streets he hates so intensely. Powerhouse acting, graphic violence and deft directing make this a must-see classic.
