Two women become good friends when their men are enlisted at the beginning of WW II. Kay Walsh is an ideal housewife. Her next door neighbor, Hazel Zanussi is a beautiful dance hall hostess. Both work on the Swing Shift of an airplane manufacturing company. A fellow worker Lucky Lockhart has had his eyes on Kay, and out of loneliness Kay allows Lucky into her home and her bed. On Lucky's birthday, while Kay, Lucky and Hazel are celebrating, there is a knock on the door, it's Jack on an unexpected furlough. Can Kay save her marriage?
