Parry (Williams) is a former professor who insulates himself from a tragedy in his past by dwelling in an imaginary world of dungeons and damsels in distress. Jack Lucas (Bridges) is a loud-mouthed deejay whose reign of tyranny on the airwaves has come to an end. Suddenly forced to the outside, he is connected with Parry on the most unlikely of terms, where one needs hope and the other love. Jack hopes to find his own self-redemption by helping Parry attain his imperfect vision of a woman.
