The legend goes that US colleges have a policy which allows a student whose roommate dies to be awarded a perfect grade point average, an outlandish loophole that has come to be known as the dead man's clause. With the end of their semester approaching, two desperate freshmen realize that there is almost no hope that they will survive their first year of college with decent grades unless they start looking for suicidal students as potential roommates!
